I would like to add to Kurt Gaskill's report. Yesterday, January 2, I saw the 
following:

Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge, Woodbridge:
Common Goldeneye - 2 females (Near Conrad Island seen from Taylor Point)
Red-breasted Merganser - 1 female (Deephole Point)


Riverside Park, Alexandria, Fairfax County:
Horned Grebe -1
