Hi Scott,
I was waiting for your report to tell you that Jeff and I walked the bridle
trail in the late morning and had one adult Bald Eagle over the meadow, but
later had three adult Bald Eagles circling and soaring a bit further away.
Thought you might want to add them to your list. Linda

Hello birders,
I led a walk at Sky Meadows on Sat. morning, sponsored by the park. It was
a pleasant day for a hike. A group of
Boy Scouts from the Winchester area were among the participants. The
highlight was the great looks at the Red-headed Woodpeckers. We watched
one bird caching nuts in a tree.
Sparrow numbers were lower than I expected.
We walked the Visitor Center and Walnut Grove areas. Later I retraced our
steps to try to dig out more birds.
Thanks to all who came out. The day's list is below.

Comments: Led bird walk for the park from 9:01 to approx. 11:30.
Walked from Visitor Center through the Walnut Grove as far as the new
picnic area (old group campground). Backtracked into lower Walnut Grove,
walked back to VC by way of entrance road. I'm also including the 1/2 mi.
drive on Edmonds Lane on the way in and out. After the bird walk I
retraced my steps. I also did a more thorough search of the VC area. I
felt that we missed a lot of birds during the walk.
