There are many in and around Virginia Beach including but not limited to:
Back Bay NWR
First Landing State Park
Princess Anne WMA
Knotts Island Causeway & Mackay Island NWR (in NC just over VA state line)
Great Dismal Swamp NWR
Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel (CBBT) (First island is accessible to public but
you must pay $12 toll to access bridge)
Eastern Shore NWR (immediately on other side of CBBT)
Kiptopeke State Park (eastern Shore)
I'm sure there are others but these are either in VA Beach or within a
45-minute drive. I hope you get to enjoy some of these spots.
