No sign of the Western Grebe on the Rappahannock River, either yesterday
afternoon, or this morning when I checked. Home with scratchy throat &
headache; must be spring pollen. Ruddy Duck numbers on the river have
increased.

Horned Grebes in various plumage are actively fishing much nearer shore.
They are much smaller.
There is no public access on this small private community lane, though I
doubt it will remain in this spot for long.
Purple Martins returned to the yard three doors down this weekend. A
Blue-grey Gnatcatcher was calling in the maple tree this morning.
