The 5 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE were back again today at Sandy River
Reservoir, Prince Edward County. Seen from both the boat ramp and briefly
from Gates-Bass Road landing. Large number of ducks still present since all
small lakes/ponds are frozen, but diversity not quite as high as a couple
days ago. Lake had small patches of ice that will likely freeze more over
the next few days, but other than that the lake was open. Duck hunters were
around earlier in the morning but cleared out before noon. Boat ramp should
be completely frozen by tomorrow, hopefully halting their weekend assault.

Other highlights included a few Redhead, a few Northern Pintail, several
Greater Scaup, one Northern Shoveler, and two Common Goldeneye.

A single Red-breasted Merganser was seen at the boat ramp the night before,
and a Tundra Swan and two Canvasback were present on the lake two days ago.
