To put in our two cents worth - from Loudoun County (just outside of
Leesburg), we normally have 3 - 4 hummingbirds around our feeder most of
the summer - with a lot of territorial behavior from several of the males.
We did see a hungry hummer at our feeder earlier in the year (19th April),
and another occasionally (i.e. once every week or two) since then - but
otherwise almost no activity (and certainly no more than a single hummer at
any one time).
Not sure what might have happened, but hoping that they will be back.
