Good point Fred. I went out to Norman's Ford Road near Remington -- there is a
new sign that is not Birder Friendly.

Subject: [Va-bird] reminder about private property for King George cranes,
golden eagle, and godwit
From: va-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Dear VA BirdersThe fact that the properties at King George ponds are private
property was lost from the email thread so I thought I should bring it to
everyone's attention again.
LaGrange Lane is a public road and there is no problem viewing the birds in
the ponds there as long as you stay on the road itself. Going onto the grass
is trespassing and we have had requests from the landowners to stay on the
road.
Farley Vale farm and Farley Vale Drive are also private property. They also
own the adjacent land that was quarried by Aggregate Industries. I just got
an email from the landowners with this gentle reminder: " I think it would be
nice to remind them that it is private property and they need to stay on the
lane and close to the highway" The Farley Vale family is generous in allowing
this access. So you may look from the beginning of the driveway near route 3
but please stay on the drive and do not wander down the drive. This also
would apply to the Aggregate Industries gate.
If you hear of others going to visit these areas please remind them about
this. Please also post this on the Birding Virginia Facebook page.
Thank you very muchFred AtwoodVSO's Virginia Birds East Region Compiler
