I stopped at Dutch Gap (Chesterfield Co.) on my way home from work today and
relocated the female type PAINTED BUNTING at 4:00 in the same location that
Paul Bedell and others found the bird this morning. The fisherman's trail
intersects the main trail on the left not far from the visitor's center. The
bird showed briefly at 4:00 before disappearing back into the vegetation so I
waited around for another 20 minutes and it came back out at which point I got
long looks at the bird as it fed leisurely. Thanks for posting Paul. Great
bird.

Subject: [va-richmond-general] Painted Bunting at Dutch Gap
This morning I saw a female Painted Bunting at Dutch Gap, at the first
fisherman's trail on the left (I forget the name) in the shrubby area on the
right as you approach the fisherman's dock. Several others who were with me saw
it including Grace Suttle and Gerry Weinberger. Hope a male shows up!
