I tallied 69 species this morning at Occoquan. The highlight was a vesper
sparrow feeding in the trail at the intersection of Charlie and Delta Roads.
Note that this is the exact same location a vesper was seen and photographed
last weekend. Other notables were good numbers of rusty blackbirds, flyover
American pipit, pine siskin, and purple finch, and white-crowned sparrows in
several locations (all immature). Waterfowl numbers are building, with good
numbers of pied-billed grebes, coots, ruddy ducks, gadwall, and lesser scaup.
