Hello Birders,
I did some some lunch break birding at verterans park today. There was a
selection
of waterfowl including
Gadwalls 12 in the beaver pond by the entrance. aslo
Hooded Mergansers 2 only
C. Geese lots
Mallards
I heard
Northern Flicker
Red-Bellied WP
Downy WP
Nuthatch
C wren.
From the Frist observation deck overlooking the tidal area there were
Green-winged Teal 14 swiming around whistling and displaying, very nice
Black Ducks 5 in their usual spot on the bank
Great' Herons 2
RB Gulls - didnt pay too much attention to them
At the other end of the park I encounted a mixed speices flock, i veiwed
chickadees 2
Titmice 3
Nuthatches 2
Downy WP pair
Song Sparrow
White throated Sparrows 6
Juncos 10+
Hurrying back i noticed the lone
Bufflehead was still/again at the restoration area pond!
