Hello all,
We recently returned from a birding trip to Costa Rica where we saw amazing
Quetzals, trogons, toucans, hummers, tanagers, etc. which we cannot write about
here, but one very interesting part of the trip was how many of "our" birds we
found.
We saw CHESTNUTSIDED warblers everyday--"Guess what, it's another
Chestnut-sided!" along with TENNESSEE, YELLOW, MOURNING, WILSON'S, MAGNOLIA,
BLACK THROATED GREEN, and BLACK AND WHITE warblers, AMERICAN REDSTART, NORTHERN
and LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSHES. We saw BALTIMORE ORIOLES every day. The last
surprise, and the funniest, was a WOOD THRUSH strolling through the open air
dining hall at La Quinta Inn, near the La Selva Biological Station.
So, get ready everybody--they'll be back before we know it.
Good birding to all,
Carol and Jay Hadlock
