Hello Everyone!
I visited the Wilna Tract (of Rappahannock River Valley NWR) early yesterday
morning guessing that the passing front would bring in more birds. Well, I
lucked out and was correct, as birds were flying all over the place, at first
light.... until the wind picked up. At that point, I could not buy a bird,
except for two Empidonax Flycatchers. So I sat watching them zip about
catching
their meals. They, like other things in nature, are some amazing creatures to
watch. How they can see, fly out, intersect and catch their food is a thing,
to me, of real wonder!
I saw the following birds before things shut down. I have one edited image,
Female Prairie Warbler, that I posted to my site. The other new images will be
posted Sunday, Sept. 12. The link follows the listing.
