Hello everyone!
I visited Rap River Valley's Wilna tract from 7 am to 12 noon today.
I think today was my Halloween Day, as every thing that I pointed my camera at
took off for parts unknown!
Birds were out and about until the wind picked up late in the morning.
Great Horned Owl (In tree on entrance road. Flew across right in front of me
and disappeared into the dense tree branches. How it got pass the limbs and
brush without a tangle is totally beyond me!)
Bald Eagle 2 (1 adult overlooking pond/marsh. 1 immature over flying the
fields.)
Red-Tailed Hawk 1
Osprey 1
Mallard 2
Canada Geese 2
Belted Kingfisher 1 (Heard)
Red-Bellied Woodpecker 2
Unidentified Warbler 2 (Bright yellow on chest)
Eastern Meadowlark 1
Barn Swallow 20
Eastern Bluebird 6
Blue Grosbeak 2 (1 Male & 1 Female)
Indigo Bunting 2
White-Throated Sparrow 5
Grasshopper Sparrow 4
Bobolink 2? (I got a quick look only and could be very wrong on this!)
A big goose egg for images but a lot of fun, as always, at Wilna!
Best of birding!
