Despite a beautiful morning, the bird activity was slow around the Mariners
Museum. The walk was characterized more by what wasn't seen (no Osprey,
Catbirds, and only one Robin.) However, a single White-throated Sparrow
did make an appearance along the bank of Kettle Pond.
It's easy to discount a tree full of Yellow-rumped Warblers and assume they
are all Yellow-rumps. Two sizable groups of Yellow-rumps today had a
Black-throated Blue Warbler, Northern Parula, Brown-headed Nuthatch, Red-eyed
Vireos, Carolina Wrens and American Goldfinches mixed in with them.
Enjoy working through all those Yellow-rumps in the coming days.
