JoAnne Pierce and I walked both Radar Station Road and Warbler Road today.
On Radar Station Road, we were treated to views of a beautiful male
Canada warbler. Not singing but in brush very near the road. We also saw a
blue headed vireo working on a nest very near the road. It was about the size
of a softball and just about as round, hanging from a small understory
tree.
Warbler road was not in as bad shape as I had envisioned but it was
wonderful to have the road to ourselves, quiet, no vehicles and able to
search for the birds we could her.
Not listing all the birds but the best were;
cerulean warbler
redstart
veery
red eyed vireo
blue headed vireo
yellow throated vireo
least flycatcher
Canada warbler
chestnut sided warbler
indigo bunting,
hooded warbler
scarlet tanager
