The warblers I hoped for yesterday morning were in evidence in the yard
today between 8 a.m. & 9 a.m., perfect viewing conditions in the sun. That
sort of grayish green one with wing bars and some warm pinkish tinge to the
pale yellow on the face and breast - a Blackburnian or maybe a Cape May but
no heavy streaking on breast, maybe a bay breasted? There is a gray/green
one over there, heavy wing bars, no eye ring, pale lemon yellow breast;
Maybe Tennessee but not likely here, cerulean, no light eyebrow, pine, not
right color. There's a grayish/brown bird. No wing bars. A black throated
blue female? Don't see a white wing patch. With the porch table full of
books and my tablet on Audubon Birds App.and based on my exhaustive
research this morning, I am prepared to state unequivocally that the birds
described are wood warblers.
