Great Falls National Park finally showed some warbler migration activity this
morning, Thursday, April 11. I heard 3 (saw 2) La. Waterthrushes and heard
several Parulas (saw 1), in addition to Palm and Yellow-rumped Warblers. But
the highlight was the large number of Purple Finches (mostly males) feeding
in the canopy among the myriad goldfinches in both the picnic and wooded
areas of the park.
Chipping Sparrow, Eastern Phoebe, Rough-winged Swallow, and Wood Duck were
other spring arrivals sighted.
