Kim Peacock and I were assigned the area of the Potomac between
Freestone Point and Quantico Creek. I say "assigned" because
Leesylvania State Park was closed, so we could not access the river or
Powell's creekfrom the park. There were a lot of ducks off Leesylvania
we could not get at, including a huge raft of scaup.
Quantico Creek:

american pipits - 7 (not waterfowl, but a real nice bird, seen on the
beach on Lake Montclair)
Kim and I walked through Metz Wetlands afterwards. We did not find the
Harris's, but did flush a woodcock, and saw 3 rusty blackbirds, another
11 pipits, a gorgeous harrier, and an equally gorgeous adult Cooper's
hawk. Metz was really beautiful with the snow.
