Greetings VA Birders,
This morning our group of 12 birders on the regular 2nd Saturday Bird Walk at
New Quarter Park near Williamsburg observed an immature WHITE IBIS on Queen's
Creek (which flows into the York River). The tide was going out and extensive
mud flats provided ample feeding space for the wading birds.
At one point there was a territorial tiff between a Great Blue Heron and the
White Ibis.
We also observed a Snowy Egret.
The Williamsburg Bird Club and New Quarter Park sponsor two bird walks a month
at the park:
second Saturday at 8 am
fourth Saturday at 7 am
New birders and experienced are welcome. No charge to enter the park. If you're
in the Williamsburg area, please join us.
