This morning when the first sunlight hit the pine treetops at Lake Fairfax
, I counted at least 10 White-Winged Crossbills including 3 males. Also present
were mixed flock of Am. Goldfinch and Pine Siskin, Red Breasted Nuthatches and
Pine Warblers. An Eastern Phoebe was feeeding in low level branches. It was a
perfect morning a crisp 33 degrees, with clear skies and no breeze. Once again
just past the new "Skatepark"
at the entrance road to group camping area.
