All - Following Alan Larner's posting yesterday of a number of different
sandpipers in some fields near Stuarts Draft, VA, I headed up there this
afternoon in hopes of finding them. There were a number of different
shorebirds in two different fields in the general area of Patton Farm Rd
outside of Stuarts Draft. There were about 15 White-rumps, 1 Buff-breasted, 7
Pectoral, 4 yellow-legs (most likely Lesser), 2 Semipalmated Plovers, several
Horned Larks, and lots of Killdeer in the two fields. Unfortunately, the birds
were far out into the field, so the photos I was able to get are not as good as
I would like. Many thanks to Alan for posting his sightings.
I've posted a few photos on Flickr, the best ones I have.
