Adding to the nice Wilson’s Phalarope / Stilt Sandpiper photos some of you have
shared, there’s a link below to an album that includes some video of each. In
one, the Stilt vocalizes. Others show the Phalarope foraging, bathing and
preening. Most photos are from Saturday, 8/8. Thanks to Allen Larner for the
report and updates -- great find!
Also, maybe I missed a report, but I’ll add that on Saturday morning Andrew
Rapp’s sharp eyes spotted a Barn Owl flying into a 300-yard distant silo,
directly behind the pond. An ID-worthy photo is included with the shorebird
