All – this morning I headed back up to Stuart’s Draft in hopes of seeing the
Stilt Sandpiper. Both the phalarope and Stilt SP were present between 8 and
9:30 am. The Stilt SP remained on the far side of the pond while I was there.
It only moved about 30-40 feet along the shore during that time. The Wilson’s
PH spent most of the time feeding on the small mudflat in the middle of the
pond. Eventually, it flew to the near side of the pond and foraged close to
where I was standing. In addition to these two birds there were 3 Least SP, 1
Solitary SP, and 2 Killdeer. Also, there was a flyover of 3 Ravens. I’ve
up-loaded some photos of the phalarope, Stilt SP, and Least SP.
