All,
This afternoon there wasn't a whole lot of activity but I did manage
to turn up a few migrants and some fairly new summer residents
(Difficult Run Stream Valley Park): Wilson's Warbler (by far the best
bird seen today and a first for the park) (afforded only one brief but
diagnostic look before going back into the under brush not intending
to come back out), Indigo Buntings (approx. 4) all singing males and
possibly one female, Northern Parulas (approx. 5) responded well to
pishing and got too close for binocs at some points, Ovenbird (1)
pished in briefly, Black-throated Blue (pished in), Eastern Wood-Pewee
heard one calling FOS, possible Broad-wing Hawk (85% sure), and my FOS
Cedar Waxwings which have been noticeably absent recently.
Yesterday morning I had an Adult male Canada Warbler singing in the
park along with my FOS Black-and-white Warblers (3).
Enjoy the cool weather,
