I was at the airport off Route 58 at dusk today, looking for Short-eared Owls.
None were found and only one Northern Harrier was seen. However, a flock of
about 70 flyover Tundra Swans and 5 calling American Woodcock were present. It
was cold out there -- my teeth were chattering. The birds, though few in
number, were nice.
I also stopped by the Crystal Lakes South development, where Redhead have been,
and did not see ducks of any species.
