Given the weather forecast for the coming days and seeing how it was such a
great day - I wandered in to the “woodcock meadow” at Huntley Meadows as the
sun was setting.
Thought I might get skunked as the winds began to pick up shortly after the sun
went down and the new weather front was approaching.
But no! First peent came at 6:17 and was followed shortly thereafter by many
more. Have to estimate 7 - 10 birds w multiple display flights. Hit the trail
back to the parking lot at 6;37 and there was one more bird peenting just a few
feet from the macadam…
