Hello!~~
While walking our dog along the boardwalk in Luria Park (near Falls Church HS)
this morning, we saw a Yellow-crowned Night Heron fishing in the muddy creek
that runs through the park as part of the Holmes Run tributary. I went home and
got my camera. He had moved a bit from his earlier more exposed position, but I
did manage to get a few photos despite the dense shade of early morning. This
bird was a lifer for my husband and I. Exciting! Photos are available on my
