VA Birders,
My wife, Michelle, and I spent the morning birding the Virginia / Kentucky
border at the Breaks Interstate Park. Best bird of the day was our first
Yellow-throated Warbler for 2007. We also spotted about 5 Pine Warblers and
saw or heard about 8 Blue-headed Vireos. At Laurel Lake we also watched two
Red-breasted Mergansers in a small group of Ring-necked Ducks. Other birds
included Common Raven, Eastern Phoebe, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, and lots of
singing Chipping Sparrows.
