A couple hours at Banister WMA this morning turned up my first
Yellow-throated Warblers of the season. There were at least 4 birds singing
in a stand of mature pines along the river. Several Pine Warblers and many
Ruby-crowned Kinglets were also singing in the same area. Other notables
included a flock of about 70 Rusty Blackbirds foraging in the swamp with
several males in full song and a Raven that flew over croaking while being
harrassed by several American Crows.
