[Va-bird] a few Oakton birds, Fairfax Co, since Wednesday

Wednesday 10/8: First Golden-crowned Kinglets of the season, Oak Marr Park
Wednesday 10/8: First Winter Wren of the season, Difficult Run Stream Valley 
Park off of Hunter's Valley Rd
It's fun to watch the daily changes here at the FHS campus during migration.
All week Palm Warblers, with a high of 19 today (Oct 12).  We had a recent 
emergence of large crane flies (those flies that look like giant mosquitos) and 
today they were being feasted upon by the Palm Warblers.  Some of them were 
eaten whole, gangly legs and all, others had their wings and legs knocked off 
before they were swallowed.
2-4 yellowthroats all week
2-5 yellow-rumpeds all week
scattered house wrens
Chipping Sparrows increasing all week with 20 today.
Song Sparrows and Swamp Sparrows in the stormwater retention dry pond 
vegetation. SOngs had a max of 16 on friday.  Only 5 today.  Swamps numbered 
0-3 depending on the day, (3 on Friday).
Towhee on Friday
Field Sparrow today.
a quiet, skulky, shortish-tailed sparrow that got away; today.
