VA-birders,
I posted previously looking for information on South African birding (in
Cape Town) and got amazing responses (thank you to all who emailed!).
With that information, I spent a lot of time researching trips, etc. and
have finalized my plans. In the process of booking my flight, I found
that South African Airways is doing a "buy one get one free" flight for
the dates of my travel. I had originally planned on going alone, but
realized that another VA birder might see this as an opportunity to do
some birding in Cape Town.
Please email me offline (at grebe at talking-dog dot com) if you're
interested, as I'm hoping to buy the plane ticket before, say, Jan. 5th.
I can fill you in on birding trip details (if that is of interest), flight
details, etc. The flight would be from Dulles to Cape Town, leaving Feb.
24th, returning March 9th (dates are firm), base price $1,250 for one
person; I am asking for $400 for the second ticket. The second ticket
will unfortunately go to waste, otherwise.
I apologize for the unusual nature of this email. Perhaps it's the
thought of a 4am Owl Count tomorrow morning that got me in a super-birding
mood, and I couldn't resist seeing if another person out there would be
able to benefit.
