I was able to visit friends down near Hatteras during the storm. Went
out every day at least twice and it was great to witness the huge
waves and overblow of the surf onto the beach AND the road!
The neatest sight was a raft of about 400 Common Loons with a few
Red-throated as well. They were seeking refuge on the lee side of
the reef south of the Lighthouse. Also found 3 dead Razorbills on the
beach.
Great place to be in a weather event!
