This is the second year that I have participated as a hawk watch location in
the Kiptopeke Challenge. On Saturday, Sept 13, I birded alone in the morning
because I was unable to find anyone to join me. THe following is the list of
species seen on that day, starting with the call of a Barred Owl at 2:30 am. I
birded from about 8:00 to 9:30 am, then went up to the "hawk watch spot" at
9:40 am until 4:45. I was joined by Norm Bell and John Spahr for part of the
time.
