I've worked recently with the Virginia Bluebird Society as well as my
homeowner's association to get approval for (bluebird) nest boxes on our
private HOA property. Now that the first step has been successful, I must
undertake getting the proper boxes, poles, guards, etc.
We had hoped that I may be able to work with a local scout troop to have boxes
built, but the one troop the VBS knew of already had boxes spoken for. And,
the VBS grants only cover boxes installed on public lands. While our HOA
property is adaject to Loftridge Park, the HOA property is technically private
and hence this project would not qualify.
Does anyone know of any other possible resources for this type of project,
either in person-power to have the boxes built to spec (according to plans on
the VSB website) or in available grant money for such a project? Any ideas or
advice (offline please) would be welcome.

p.s. As a side note: if anyone lives in the area of "south of Telegraph Rd.
exit of the beltway" and is looking to help monitor bluebird nest boxes next
spring, I may just have a volunteer opportunity for you! There will be HOA
waiver forms to sign, but that should be a minor point.
