Was with students at Burke Lake in the morning
and Lake Fairfax (Reston) in the afternoon. I
have attached the eBird lists below. Highlights
were 2 horned grebes, displaying hooded
mergansers, a nicely-perched red-shouldered hawk,
and a sizable flock of grackles at Burke Lake;
and red-breasted nuthatches, towhees, a dapper
group of ring-necked ducks, and a wonderfully
relaxing and beautiful afternoon with interested
and quiet students at Lake Fairfax.
