Spent a morning birding in the northern part of Highland, excluding the
Laurel Fork highlands. My quest was to find one of those summer Golden
Eagles, of which there have been some sightings. No luck with that, but
I did end up with a satisfactory list. Goldfinches were everywhere.
Still some ongoing breeding activity with fledged young and adults
carrying food for a number of species.
Should anyone get out there and see (or better yet photograph) a golden
eagle, please post it or let me know. Sandy Hevener and Patti Reum are
diligently keeping track of all eagle sightings, golden or bald.
