Started out Thanksgiving with a couple hours at Huntley Meadows (Visitor Center
side) to try out my new scope (courtesy of One Good Tern in Alexandria).
Chilly (25 deg.) but thankfully no wind.
Highlights were a Merlin that flew into the tallest dead tree across the water
from the boardwalk below the tower; one Hermit thrush at the tower and three at
the Visitor Center; a nice assortment of waterfowl, and a Fox Sparrow (FOS)
near the beginning of the boardwalk as I was leaving. Also many Mourning Doves
and Am. Goldfinches.
