All,
At noon yesterday I visited Dameron Marsh NAP in lower Northumberland
County to see if the early morning storm had delivered any new birds to the
flooded fields in the area. Highlights were a grouping of snowy egret,
cattle egret and little blue heron (the Gold Book has the extreme early
date for little blue as April 10, so we missed it by a day) and nine glossy
ibis. There were thirty-plus lesser yellowlegs, eight or nine greater
yellowlegs, four pectoral sandpipers, seven blue-winged teal, lots of
laughing, Bonaparte's and ring-billed gulls, some Canada geese and four
wild turkeys.
