While helping some friends with a prescribed burn east of Blacksburg
yesterday i saw and heard a few more seasonal firsts for the year including
white eyed vireo, great crested flycatcher, ruby throated hummer (at the
house feeder, apparently has been back for ~3 days) and the first few
indigo buntings (male and female).... hopefully after the native warm
season grasses come back following the burn, there'll be many more
grasshopper sparrows, bobwhites and others to add to the list.  Also heard
a gray tree frog calling too!
