Today for me was bad news / good news, for passage migrants in Fairfax County.
This morning at Ellanor Lawrence Park, I had zippo migrants. Nice day though,
with Scarlet Tanager, Indy Buntings, Cedar Waxwings, and more Red-Eyed Vireos
than you can shake a caterpillar at. And, 3 different copulating couples:
Robins, Doves, and Baltimore Orioles. Spring seems to be in the air.
Tonight in Fairfax however, I had Black-Throated Blue and Black-Throated Green
Warblers, both around 6 PM.
We usually see BTBW here each May and September, and never in June-July. So
I'm sure both of these were migrants.
Was this just a fluke, or are the migrants showing up again elsewhere, too?
