There were 18 birders on this morning's Huntley Meadows Monday Morning
Birdwalk, and we spotted 42 species. With the resurfacing of the boardwalk
beginning this morning, our route was modified so that we got only a small
access to the boardwalk. We were able to spot some shorebirds signaling the
beginning of their migration through our area. Another highlight was an
unidentified Empidomax species. We tried matching it with Peterson's five
frame Empidomax paintings with call note diagrams, but could not make a
definite ID.
