Driving north on the CBBT, aroudn 5 PM, I noted:
-- 1 Razorbill between Island 4 and the high-rise bridge
-- about 20 Surf Scoters at Island 1
-- a few D-c Cormorants over Thimble Shoals
-- ~20 Gannets, on both the Bay and Ocean sides of the CBBT, over Thimble
Shoals
This is significant difference from 1 to 2 weeks earlier, when all of the
Gannets and D-c Cormorants were to the Ocean side of the CBBT over Thimble
Shoals. Now, the two species were fewer and more dispersed.
This is consistent with prior-year observations that the Gannets follow the
"bait fish" up the Bay and its major tributories during March.
