Friends: had a chance toi visit Florida Bay (the far southern tip of mainland
FL) and some backwaters of Everglades NP in a small boat yesterday. Lots of
wading birds of different kinds, including quite striking green heron and what
I think is a great white heron, night herons, some shore birds, terns, barred
owl, prairie warbler, and a carcass of a rare 38-foot whale that washed up near
the boat ramp.
