While out with students in the pine woods of Oak Marr Park next to our campus
yesterday I heard my first red-breasted nuthatches of the season. This AM
there were two in the same location. Also present today were 2 chestnut-sided
warblers, two redstarts, a yellow warbler, and a magnolia warbler. Two warblers
got away and I had to get inside to start school before I could carefully
search the area for migrants. The morning house finch flock has grown to 85.
A very large immature Cooper's Hawk also flew into the woods.
All the best
