We saw a nice bunch of sparrows at the meadow near the Nature Center
in Riverbend Park, Fairfax County, this morning, Tuesday October 20th.
Most were White-throated -- at least 50 and maybe many more -- but we
also had 6 SWAMP, a dozen SONG, a juvenile WHITE-CROWNED, 6 CHIPPING.
and a single LINCOLN'S. There were also numerous Towhees around.
Other nice birds were a WINTER WREN and at least 7 Eastern
Bluebirds. An Eastern Screech-owl occasionally called from the woods.
