Today (9/16/10) I went to Chincoteague to check up on the White cheeked
Pintail.
I first walked up the light house to do some hawk watching and saw the
following birds.
2 Bald Eagles
8 Turkey Vultures
15 Black Vultures
3 Kestrels
4 Merlin
3 Peregrine Falcons
4 Osprey
3 Coppers Hawks
5 sharp-shinned Hawks
2 Northern Harriers
1 Sandhill Crane (flew over Chincoteague)
15 White Ibis
5 Glossy Ibis
42 Snowy Egrets
2 King Fishers
5 Black and white Warblers
6 American Redstart
2 Philadelphia Vireos
After the light house closed ( at 3pm) I drove to Snow Goose Pond.
I found the White Cheeked Pintail around 3:20pm and left around 5:30pm. he was
in the same location (southwest part of Snow Goose Pond .)
Other birds present are the following.
