Diversity was a bit low today, but picked up a 6 warbler species, including
Yellow-rumped (8) and a Bay-breasted. Passerine highlight was a Blue-headed
Vireo at the gun battery.
Highlight of the morning was an adult Peregrine Falcon perched in one of the
snags at the end of Bushey Pt. (picture attached to eBird checklist). While I
was watching the falcon, a Kingfisher flew up on a nearby snag and proceeded to
scold the falcon, who seemed to ignore it. Also notable was a flock of at least
500 grackles, most in the playground field, and some in the trees and in the
picnic areas on either side of the field. While noisy, the flock was not as
noisy as the flock of Cub Scouts out hiking.
