Went with Dave Boltz to Waynesboro in hopes of sighting the Purple Gallinule.
Arrived @ 9 AM to Orchard Oriole in song, and stayed til about 3 PM, except for
a brief lunch run, during which another birder manned the post. No Purple
Gallinule either in the "pond" or upstream from the foot bridge. Plenty of
other bird activity however. Several juv. C. Grackles bathing and begging for
food; young N. Flickers chasing Mom; Grackles chasing Cooper's Hawk; several
Cedar Waxwings flying about.
