Birded Laurel Hill Park this morning from the Barrett House area and down the
Cross County Trail to Giles Run Meadow Park. The early fog (until ~8:30) made
is difficult to ID small birds in the trees.
Ran into two distinct Mimic Thrush conventions; one with two Catbirds, two
Brown Thrashers and four Mockingbirds and one with four Catbirds, three Brown
Thrashers.
Nice selection of warblers (8 species), including FOS Black-throated Green
Warblers. A Kestrel was hunting the Giles Run Meadow parking area and the
opposite lawn. Also flushed a Woodcock along the Cross County Trail.
After the sun came out, hit a moving circus of warblers and Red-eyed Vireos and
an Empid, which might have been a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, but maybe not.
