Thanks to directions from Rachel Echols, we had an enjoyable visit today at
the James River Park off 42nd street. It was good to briefly meet Lewis
Barnett, a real birder.
Our main focus was to photograph scarlet tanagers from the bridge, though we
enjoyed a few other species too, like the Baltimore oriole.
Several photos of the scarlet tanager show it with an insect in its beak,
one of which is posted at this link.
